Pemba Tsheri Sherpa
Pemba Tsheri Sherpa is a native of Solu Khumbu, being born in
Juving of the Solu Khumbu district. He has been involved in the trekking
industry from early age and is an accomplished Sherpa / Climber.
His mountaineering feats include:
Successful ascent of smaller peaks in the Everest region; Mera
Peak (6476 m.), Island Peak (6189 m.), Ramdung (5930 m.), Lobuche ( 6119 m.),
and in the Annapurna region; Tent peak (5500m), Cholu East (6358 m.), Pisang
peak (6091 m.), Thorong peak (6000 m.), Naya Khangba in Makalu region.
Pemba has climbed various expedition peaks, which include:
Amadablam (6856 m.) - 6 times,
Shisapangma (8000 m.) 3 times,
Cho Oyu (8210 m.) - 4 times,
Mt. Makalu (8463 m.) and
Mt. Everest (8848 m.) in the year 2000
Pemba has a vast array of experience in climbing the challenging
and rigorous mountains of the Himalayan range. His knowledge of the mountains,
the locals and the routes not only gives the clients the extra know how about
the culture and is an asset to the team as he is man leading from the front.
During his mountaineering expeditions, he has traveled
extensively in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan (Chomolahari & Lingshi Laya) and is
an invaluable member of Sacred Summits (P) Ltd. Pemba Tsheri Sherpa expired on
May 31-2004 on his way to his home in Khumbu. He was to leave for a trip to
Kailash Manasarovar on May 06 and had gone to meet his family as he had just
returned from Tibet after summiting Mt. Cho Oyu (8201 meters). May his soul
rest in peace.
